I worked in technology transfer for ten years, and I studied history of science in college; but I also have a master's in social work and currently work in mental health/substance abuse services system design and quality improvement. Much of what I like is connecting the human and the scientific. My longer fiction for older youth and adults has elements of both science/technology and craft/hobby/sport, as well as some deeper question - but always cloaked in characters I care about. My stories for younger children span life lessons, timeless myths and just pure fantasy. The “view” part of my creative work includes both using our eyes to see in a particular way and choosing purposefully how we treat each other and our environs.
