Until this morning I had never seen a grasshopper with its legs draped over the edge of anything. Turns out you can always see something new even where you have been for many years. I saw it when I went out to check my minimal and overgrown garden, spoke to it saying "I am going to go get my camera, you probably won't be here when I get back, but we'll see.." And so on the way back with the camera I started taking pictures from a bit of a distance. I hadn't noticed that positioning until I looked at the photos I had taken.

And what a face! When it stood up as I got nearer, I got a closer look. As those of you who have checked in here now and again know, I am taken with insect faces.
