Animal Lullabies

Turquoise, Lois, Camelia and Grass Turtle sang a turtle lullaby

 

Tuck your head into your shell,

Pull your feet in too.

Feel the darkness wrap around,

And know that I love you.

 

But they needed some help coming up with some other verses. So they went to visit some animal friends.

 

Bear

 

Go to sleep my little bear,

Curl inside your lair,

Your tummy’s full

For many months

Of sleep and growing hair.

 

Sleep tonight my little bear

Tomorrow you will wake.

And swiftly we will find some bees

And of breakfast we’ll partake.

 

 

Bat

 

We hang upside down all day

For us that is just right.

We awake at nighttime then

And sleep when it gets bright.

 

Dolphin

Sleep with half your brain right now,

Give it a big rest.

Then you wake it up and trade

And that is how we stay our best.

 

Fish

Swim while you sleep,

Don’t make a peep

Keep the water flowing

While here in the deep.
